Transforming lives in July!

Hello Beautiful!

Thank you for opening my email.  As always, I hope you are thriving.

It's finally Summer and well, it's HOT! The summer months are the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors with your family and friends. We know that many of you will be hitting the pool, enjoying family BBQ’s, spending time in the mountains or at the beach. Let’s ensure that you and your family stay safe this summer while you are using your essential oils.

  1. Always check the label. Each essential oil has specific directions for use. Look at the labels and follow the directions closely, especially if you are trying oils for the first time. Many oils need to be diluted with a carrier oil. When applying to your face, avoid contact with your eyes, nose, or ears.

  2. Store oils safely. With school out, young children have more time at home. They often are bored and spend their time exploring the home. Keep your oils in a safe place out of the reach of children. Remind your young children that essential oils should be used with a parent. A great way to include your children is to let them pick the oil you are going to diffuse. The uplifting or calming scents that fill your home can contribute to keeping a positive atmosphere and can help dispel hard feelings after an argument.

  3. Photosensitive Oils: Be aware that some of your family’s favorite citrus oils should be avoided topically before direct sunlight or exposure to artificial UV rays. Photosensitive oils react to radiant energy or light such as natural sunlight, sunlamps, or other sources of UV rays. To avoid issues with photosensitive oils, wait a minimum of 12 hours before exposing skin where you have applied citrus oils to UV rays/sunshine. Citrus oils contain constituents that can cause photosensitization of the skin. If exposed to sunlight (which gives off UV radiation) after topical application of a photosensitive oil, the skin may become temporarily darkly pigmented, red, or irritated. More extreme exposure may cause hives or burns.

The best oils for the outdoors are....

Peppermint: Apply in a roller bottle directly to your skin when you need to cool down most. Or, add a few drops to a spray bottle with water for an all-over cooldown. You can also drink it in your water for a refreshing boost.

Lavender: An excellent after-sun oil when you’ve spent all day out on the waves, use Lavender to soothe your skin. It can be combined with Peppermint in this after-sun spray for the greatest benefit to your skin.

TriEase® Softgels: Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint essential oils to support a healthy respiratory system and help your body deal with seasonal threats.

Breathe®: Rub onto your chest, or add to your palms, cup your hands around your nose, and inhale the aroma to help minimize the effects of seasonal threats.

Tea Tree (Melaleuca): Using Tea Tree oil may provide protection against both environmental and seasonal threats. Also helps repel bugs!

Frankincense: Sometimes our bodies just need something extra to feel right at the end of a long day outside. Massage into your hands and feet after a long day of hiking for a warming and soothing sensation.

Deep Blue®: This cooling and warming essential oil blend is perfect for tired feet or muscles and can help you keep going.

Correct-X®: This multi-purpose, natural ointment helps soothe skin and keep it clean while recovering from distress. Correct-X provides a moisture barrier that helps protect while simultaneously soothing and hydrating the skin.

TerraShield®: This repellant spray will help keep those pesky insects away.  Safe for the entire family. Settle into the great outdoors with this amazing blend and keep those mosquitos at bay.

This month on my Be Well with Deanna Facebook and Instagram pages, This month I am sharing the importance of the skin! Our health is directly linked to what we put on, in, and around our skin. Let's start by ditching and switching the toxic products in our homes with natural and safe solutions.

As always, I wish you a beautiful and fabulous month.  May you get outdoors and enjoy the sun on your face and the earth beneath your feet. Remember to stay healthy by washing your hands, eating real food, getting plenty of sleep and most of all do what makes you hApPy!  xoxo

I am here to connect with you and will honor your space with kindness.

Be well and safe,

Peace. Love. Oils.

My Latest Blog

Our Friend, the Sun is essential to life on earth.  It provides warmth, daylight, and positive signals to your body.  Its rays provide our bodies with the ability to create serotonin which is linked to improving mood and mental health.  The sun also regulates the production of melatonin and supports our circadian rhythms and sleep cycles. It also helps synthesize vitamin D which helps boost our immune system and promotes calcium absorption.

Sunshine is a classic example of how you can sometimes have too much of a good thing.  No one likes a sunburn and the risk of skin cancer should always be taken seriously. Ideally, we appreciate and enjoy the sun without putting our skin at risk of long-term damage including sunspots, wrinkles, premature aging, and the loss of skin elasticity.
